Brompton Bicycle

The unique Brompton folding bike was designed and built in London in 1975 by Andrew Ritchie in his flat in South Kensington opposite the Brompton Oratory. Still made in London today, Brompton is making over 45,000 bikes per year and is the UK's largest bike manufacturer.

The Brompton was conceived as a product that increases people's sense of independence and increases peoples sense of freedom, and this concept is still at the heart of everything we do. When people think about getting around in the city better, we want them to think of Brompton.
